  • Okay. Now that you've completed your domino goal and you've given it as much life as possible, don't think that you're done. You can go back to that at any time. If you wake up in the morning and think of more detail, you can add to it. Always go back to it. It's okay. The more the better. I want to talk for a minute about our needs and our motivations because these things need to be considered.
  • As we develop our path forward into rendering your, um, now story or your, sorry. Your next story possible. We have four needs. We have physical needs, mental needs, emotional needs and spiritual needs. And the more holistic, our goal is to meet all these needs, the more, um. Potential we have to achieve it. So as I said, you know, in the dominoes, the more intricate the design, the more beautiful than knocked down.
  • So the more time you spend understanding your needs and your motivations, the more effective your action plan will be. So we have needs for needs, physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental. And we also have motivations. We have external motivations and internal motivations. So external motivations are things outside of us, something outside of us that motivates us.
  • Like for example, um, someone giving us, you know, the attaboy, good job, a reward, a promotion, a bonus, um, anything like that, uh, uh, good job card, whatever it is that's an from the outside in that motivates us to take action. But, you know, our external motivators have, um. A limited supply of power. They only last for so long.
  • What's more important is what motivates us from the inside out because we're more fulfilled. And then internal motivation is really, um, a feeling or a desire that comes from the inside out. And what we're going to do next is focus really in on that internal motivation and drill it down to find what I call our core motivation.
  • So to find our core motivation, we need to dig deep because as George Sheehan says, we all have a unique and never to be repeated event, a unique offering for the planet. And that's what we're going to work on and identify in our core motivation exercise. Now you're going to work through to identifying your core motivation through the core motivation exercise.
  • And the first thing that you're going to do is complete a sentence. I come to work each day at blank because I want to blank now. Don't get hung up on the word blank. It could be volunteer work or parenting or whatever it is you spend most of your time doing. So I come to work at blank because I want to blank.
  • And now to demonstrate what I want you to do with that sentence, I'm going to show you mine and how I drilled down into my core motivation. So I come to work each day at massively human because I want to share my teachings with the world. And now this is where you begin to ask yourself that repeating question and it changes slightly each time.
  • So let me start again. I come to work each day, a massively human because I want to share my teaching with the world. Then you ask yourself the question. What does sharing my teachings with the world bring me? So the question is what does it bring you? Okay, what does sharing my teaching with the world bring me?
  • Am I answer? Is the experience of witnessing my work can transform lives? So then I asked that same question again. What does witnessing that my work transforms lives? Bring me and then I answer it again? A clear sign that I have. I've had an important impact on others. Then I ask the question again. You get it, you repeat it.
  • What does a clear sign? What does a clear sign that I've impacted others bring me? And what that brings me is a sense of accomplishment. So I ask it again by saying, what does a sense of accomplishment bring me? And I answered that, well, I'm getting a little deeper. You see, it's, it's, it's that my work really matters.
  • And so the fifth time I asked myself the question. What does a feeling that by work really matters bring me. And I arrived at legacy. So I, my core motivation when I, when I drilled down and I asked myself all those questions, what I came to was, I may start coming to work. But the purpose or the motivation is because I really want to leave a legacy and it's important to me.
  • My favorite quote is you never touch somebody, someone so lightly. You do not leave a trace. So it started out as what I do each day, but it drilled down to legacy. So when you ask yourself these repeating questions, you'll kind of land on what it is. It might be a word or a phrase. I'm not suggesting that you have to land on one word.
  • And you might end up where you started quite possibly, but ask these questions three to five times to see what shifts and what changes. And then when do you feel like you've hit it. Rewrite your core motivation statement cause that's going to be important for you to carry forward. Okay. So take your time.
  • Identify, you know, why you come to work each day and what you want to do and ask these questions systematically and you'll arrive at a deeper purpose or a core motivation.
