  • Let's jump right into who I am. And what is LIS launching lab? My name is Carson Grady and I live in Colona, British Columbia, Canada on the Western side of Canada. The about five hours from think Hoover and I work. For Kathleen Seeley. And I am the, my official title is director of operations for her companies.
  • And we are a growing company, but we're very much in touch with what it's like to be at the start of your journey. And we have become proficient at list building. However, I believe we are a great group to learn from because we really walk our talk. The things that I am covering inside of this launching lab are things we are really doing and implementing in our business.
  • Right. And how, as we speak right now, all of the things that we cover in this launching lab is things that we are using in our real business. And I believe that that is critical to be able to then share with people like you, what to do because it's coming from experience. Now my formal educational experience and background is in neuroscience and developmental psychology from the university of Lethbridge.
  • I actually wanted to be a dentist back in the day. It's funny how life works, doesn't it. And that background in neuroscience and developmental psychology really affects how I approach everything. I'm always looking at it from the perspective of a. Behavioral and psychological perspective. What is driving people to take action?
  • What is dictating their behavior? And when it comes to list building and specifically working online, I think it's a very powerful background that I obviously never expected to use and apply in this case. However, knowing how people behave is critical to being able to get them, to take the actions that you want.
  • Now something I wanted to cover early on is no matter where you are in your business or the world or your life, you are in the right place. The list launching lab is for everyone. No matter if you're someone who's never heard of an email list and have no idea. How anything works, or even if you're somebody who already has a list and is just looking to more optimize and become more conscious to create a more engaged list.
  • Everyone is welcome here. Everyone will get valuable information and the list launching lab is made to be step-by-step so that you can implement along the way, no matter where you are starting from. So where did the list launching lab come from? I was lucky in that I inherited a very amazing person to work with in Kathleen.
  • However, we quickly realized after our first few launches, how important it is to find new people, you see what happened was we had a few great and successful launches from that sort of nest egg of people that Kathleen had kinda connected. With over time. However, we sort of tapped them out because only so many people are buying something in a given year or a month.
  • So what we quickly learned is that we really needed to be finding new people, people all of the time. The thing I specifically remember after one of our launches, that all of the pieces of it were kind of there, but we just didn't have the conversion that we needed. And I remember thinking. Gosh, we must have a marketing problem.
  • We're just not very good at selling. We need to be able to maybe write better copy or create a better landing page or optimize what we were doing. And there's a lot of merit in optimization. If you have a launch, that doesn't go well. However, what I quickly realized, I'm glad I quickly realized is we might have had a marketing problem.
  • I believe you can always optimize all those things I listed before. However, the real problem we had was a lead problem. And I think it's probably the same for you. Something, I believe isn't talked about enough, at least to my satisfaction. Hence why we created this lunching lab is you could be the greatest marketer of all time, but if you have no one to market to it doesn't really matter.
  • Does it. So, what we decided to do was to fully commit to building our email list. And we actually started from zero. Um, if not zero, I believe when I came on working with Kathleen, we had somewhere along the lines of like a hundred email subscribers that she had collected, but they were effectively not in an email list.
  • They're more just her context that she could think of. So we really were. Probably starting in a very similar position. As many of you are now, this is an interesting sort of artistic representation of our journey with list-building and comparing it to our gross revenue. And as you can see our email list size and our gross revenue rise together, and that is not a coincidence.
  • And something else that I noticed, well, looking at our own data while I was creating the list launching lab is I have just realized that we have crossed the $1 million gross revenue line with our online offerings. And that's a huge accomplishment. I'm really proud of that. I, I find it funny that we actually didn't realize that, but either way we realized it and we celebrated that because it is a huge milestone that we're very, very proud of, especially because our journey hasn't been that long.
  • We started with nothing and I really think it shows what is going to be possible for you. Now, there's never a guarantee. I can't guarantee that you'll get results or that you'll make money or you'll cross the million dollar barrier. But as cliche as it is, if we can do it, I truly believe you can do it because we are scrappy and committed entrepreneurs.
  • And so are you, we didn't come in with a massive marketing budget or an MBA in marketing or anything like that. And in some cases, you even maybe better Crip than we were in all reality, but I just wanted to show you that what is possible when you truly commit. To building an email list. And this took us about three to four years to really work out.
  • And I truly believe that list launching lab effectively is cutting out those three years for you because we're piling all of that information that we learned in this three-year journey to the cross, this million dollar Mark. Into one course for you. And that's what I truly live for is going out and doing the work, getting practical experience that I can then speak to, but then translating my experience into learning for people like you.
  • That is what makes me feel fully alive. And it, I believe it is me fully expressing my values and who I am. Now, back to the program, let's talk about the list. Launching lab. It breaks into eight main sections. The first section is where we're going to cover the fundamentals and the terms used throughout the program.
  • Now this might seem like something you could skip, but I highly encourage you not to because it just ensures we're going to be all on the same page. As we work through the list. Launching lab. The second module is all about your email service provider, ESP. This is this sort of machine behind list building and what makes it all possible?
  • The third section is talking about the perfect client model or PCM, and this is where the conscious list-building comes in. You see the list launching lab is not about building any old lists because you might already know. You could buy email lists online if you want it to don't do it because it really doesn't matter if they don't care who you are.
  • And that is where the perfect client model comes in. Talking about how to identify and get very, very clear on who you're looking to attract not only to serve, but also to sell to the fourth module is all about creating a lead magnet, which is, I guess you could think of it as the bait on the hook. For your perfect client model, we will go in depth and explore all the available options for creating the perfect lead magnet for you.
  • What you do and your perfect client model. Module five covers how to create the perfect landing page. This is effectively how you present your lead magnet to your perfect client model. And there are some fundamental things that make landing pages more effective than others. And we will cover that. So you have a great landing page to show off your lead magnet.
  • The sixth module covers the overall marketing funnel and as well as the nurture sequence, which kind of. Coincide with being the same thing, but we'll get into that. And this is really about looking at your particular perfect client model journey from start to finish. And we're going to look at it to make sure that you're both providing the value and the context for who you are and what you do.
  • And then you are working them way down the funnel to where they, you would then present your offer. The seventh module is all about that last end of that marketing funnel, where you sell and you serve to people. Now, this is not a marketing course. I don't think I know much about marketing at all. And that might sound odd that we've sold a million dollars of online products.
  • However, I think that even shows how powerful list building is and consciousness building at that, because when you work hard to find your perfect client model, And you get really good at creating an engaging funnel that builds up your perfect client model to want to buy what you sell. The marketing becomes almost automatic and built in, and that's the power of consciousness building.
  • The final module is just putting it all together with final thoughts to set you on your way for success. Now, the journey along the list launching lab is going to be fun. It's going to be step-by-step. But most importantly, it's going to change your business forever, but I want you to keep this in mind.
  • Perfection is not the goal. What we want to be able to do is evolve to excellence. You see your first email, your first lead magnet, your first nurture sequence. It's not going to be perfect. However, the power. Of building and the list launching lab in bringing you new leads all the time automatically in your business every single day is it's giving you the solid foundation.
  • You need to iterate because you're going to have new people come around. So you can maybe work on your copy, hire a copy editor. You could create a better lead magnet. You can fine tune your nurture sequence. And all of that allows you to convert better as long as you're bringing in new people. And that's what list launching lab is all about bringing you in the right new people to give you the opportunity to iterate and evolve to excellence in your business.
