  • Welcome everybody. This video is really more of a tutorial that you should follow along with. I'm going to try and go slow. And when I edit, I'll try not to cut out any space. So it might be a longer video, but it should be one that you can follow on along directly with. And what we're going to be building is our sort of main landing page for our first lead magnet that we created.
  • This is the one I'll be. Sort of recreating to show you how you can build yours, that you can follow along with. And my headline, my description, my call to action. All of this stuff has been sort of created by completing this workbook. Now, this is included down below for you and you should have completed it in the last.
  • Video. And if effectively, what this is doing is building out your landing page point by point piece by piece. So your headline. And your description. And again, keeping in mind your PCMs, your perfect client model, which you would have put together on a previous workbook here. And what I have decided to do is to really make a more realistic example by following along.
  • Myself with the same process that you are. So what I've done is I have completed my PCM workbook and I have also included it for you. So you can kind of get the context if you care. So basically I use this information to be able to fill in my headline description, et cetera, to be able to build out my landing page on paper.
  • And I also wanted to show you that this is the actual. Lead magnet that I had put together. And, um, again, it doesn't necessarily supposed to mean anything to you, but I wanted you to see that this is all being built around real stuff. And I've included links to each of these individually in case you care to complete, uh, to see how I put together my landing page.
  • So obviously what we're going to do is. Open up our convert kit account. Now, when you sign in, this is where you end up going. And what we want to do is obviously create a landing page and going to be doing is creating a brand new landing page, age. And again, we're going with a landing page. A form is used.
  • If you already have an existing website on Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, et cetera. The, you can create a form that goes on it. But what we're doing is we're building a full landing page and I had selected a. Template to start with this one right here, Cedar, because I really like it. I think it makes it easier for you to follow along.
  • If you select the exact one, I select, however, you don't have to, obviously there's lots of template options, which is one of the best parts about convert kit. As I've talked about almost endlessly, it feels like so you can feel free to choose your own. However, I would suggest you stick with the one. That I am using to fall along with.
  • And then perhaps you can transition to a different template later, uh, if you choose. So what we're going to do is we're going to choose Cedar.
  • And the first thing I'm going to do is rename the page. Just, this is only has really anything to do with you, um, internally, but I think it's good to name things that you know, it will be. So my lead magnet is called three proven ways.
  • So we'll call it three proven ways landing page. Okay. So at a high level, let's go over the details of this page. This is obviously the headline. This is your description. Here is your call to action button. This is your form. And down here as this sort of extra part about you, that we will work with. And again, as you notice, these are all to do with these, um, areas that you creating the elements of a landing page.
  • That again, in your workbook, you would have already created by now. We are effectively taking what you put on paper here, and we are now bringing it to life into a landing page. So. Just to sort of show you around the convert kit builder a little bit, again is you can click on various areas and you can change the text.
  • They kind of have lots of point and click, so it's not too complicated to navigate. And. Over here. You can see the sort of general options, which I would suggest in general. You probably don't want to mess with, but headings is, um, to change the text. So for headings are obviously like the big writing. I'll try and change it to something a little bit distinct.
  • So you see, I changed the headlines and all the headlines changed. Um, I chose this particular template because I actually did like, um, the fonts and the text and all of that. So again, I think it's good to stick with it because as I showed you in your workbook, I went over to some design fundamentals. In case you choose to create your landing page outside of convert kit, without templates, because templates sort of take care of all of this design crash courses for you.
  • However, I did want you to be empowered, to use whatever tools you happen to want to, but again, convert kit makes it very easy. So something I suggest you do is you can sort of play around with different settings and you can see how they change. And it's helpful to just maybe get your bearings a little bit.
  • And there's no better way of learning than kind of just poking around. So the good news is, so again, you can kind of begin to see what all of these ultimately end up doing. So feel free to poke around and see how all of these changes take effect. And you can start to get a better idea of how the page builder works.
  • I think what's true is it just takes a little bit of practice. And the good news is when you're working with templates like within convert kit is you can always start over. The truth is because we create the pieces, the elements of the landing page on paper. First, it's kind of easy to come back and restart if you have to, and just copy paste the core text in which is what I will be doing.
  • So on another screen, I have the texts that I'm creating. So just if you're wondering, I'll be copying and pasting. As really you should be as well, copy pasting from your workbook. Um, and if not, copy pasting, uh, at least transcribing what you have already written down. Okay. So with that, the first thing I'm going to do is change this background image, although it's nice.
  • Um, I'm not about it. So something that I love about convert kit is you can add your own image. You can upload. If I click this, it'll open a file Explorer. I could choose one of my images and upload it. So that's great. We can be custom, but you can also use something called Unsplash, which is royalty free stock photos.
  • So you can search for things and you can see, uh, what comes up. Um, you can add photos from your Instagram, but something that I particularly like is the hero patterns. Now these are basically just subtle patterns that I find do well for a page without being overwhelming. Whereas the truth is that some photos can kind of take over.
  • So I kind of like these little X patterns. So what I'm going to do is click it. And what you can see is this makes renders the text almost completely unreadable. And what we want to do is do an overlay opacity. So you can see this as a slide wider. So I'm just moving it. I'm at about 15%, maybe a little lower.
  • 12%. So you can see what it basically does is it adds a color over top of the background image, and it basically allows you to make it more subtle. So now the text is legible, but it's not just black, if it's just black, that's okay. Truthfully. But I think that this little background adds a bit of texture to the page and I think overall upscales it.
  • So the good news is that's really the only foundational change I wanted to make to this. Um, the design of the page instead of a background image shows a, um, I chose a pattern, sorry. Um, but again, if you prefer an image, you can totally do that. You can upload your own, and then you can play with the opacity to make sure that the tech stays very legible.
  • That's the most important thing. But I'm going to switch back to my pattern.
  • I liked this one. Yeah, just dial this down. So there you go.
  • okay. So again, that's the only really, um, hard design change I'm making. So that's the benefit of templates and convert kit or else I'd have to bill all of this. And that takes much more technical expertise. Someone like me might be capable of that, but at the same time, if I can create a great page by making one simple change to a design already made for me, uh, that's a big win.
  • So now what we're going to start doing is. Putting in the content that we created on our workbook into the actual page. So I'm going to start with my headline and again, I'm copy pasting off of it. Um, off another page, but this is the headline I came up with. And just to reiterate a headline is really like your first class onto something onto the person that's visiting you page.
  • So you want it to illustrate to them that they're in the right place, specifically targeting your PCMs pain points or what they want, what they desire. That's why your headline is very important. And you can see what I did is I used a variety of typography to kind of make it stand out because it's a little bit long mine.
  • So yours might not be this long, but I couldn't cut it down anymore. I really liked it. So what I did is I made a certain section of it bold. And what you can do is you can highlight text and make that change. Now, I obviously made this a talent, so.
  • Yeah, this is just the way of playing with the topography to kind of draw attention because I want them to read it all, but I really wanted it to stand out to hello, to a thriving virtual. Business because my PCM is looking to create a virtual business. And also you'll notice that my PCM is on the slightly younger side in their thirties, most likely.
  • So for me, using something like biz, uh, is appropriate and okay. Whereas for your PCM, you might be more formal, but again, that's the power of understanding your PCM, which you are well on your way of doing so this is my headline. Now, the next part is my description, and this is a great way to back up, basically what you're saying in your title and provide more context.
  • So what I say is your email list is the lifeblood of your business. Again, using typography, bold and italicized to make it just stand out a little bit more. And the good news is with landing pages. There's not a lot of copy, so. We don't have to worry too much about people getting lost on the page.
  • However, it's still valuable to be able to use bold and italics to just draw a little bit of more attention to the sort of punchline of what you want to say. So basically what I'm doing is what I am saying is you want to say goodbye to no clicks, no views, no, by launches, basically people who have tried to launch, but haven't quite been able to do it.
  • Fully is my PCM and hello to a thriving virtual business. Okay. That's what my PCA wants. PCM wants. They're excited. And what I say to them is your email list is the lifeblood of your business. Really laying the foundation for my lead magnet, which is three proven steps to building your email list as a coach or consultant.
  • So what I go on to do is, again, Lay on the facts to them that a thriving email list is the difference between feeling like you're starting at ground zero every single day versus getting constant stream of new leads to engage and move towards your product or service. So again, this language is all very tied to my PCM and specifically tied to their pain points and effectively what they're looking to do.
  • So hopefully your description will do that as well. Now, the next area is over on the right here, the form. Okay. So let's start with the most important pieces is the form itself. The form is obviously the information you're collecting. So right now is default there's first name, last name and email address.
  • And as I said in the workbook, You really want to be very thoughtful about what you add here? For example, last name should pretty much never be asked in my opinion. There's no real reason for it. You don't need to know people's last name and it begins to lose a lot of anonymity that can really block people from opting in.
  • And again, there's just no real purpose for this same goes for phone number. Now, it doesn't mean you never use that. For example, you'll see lots of B2B business to business lead, uh, landing pages and lead magnets require first name, last name, phone number, maybe job position or tenure or something like that, because leads are so rare in that space that you really, you will probably have a sales rep call you.
  • So in certain contexts it is appropriate, I would say, but for most people. That's coaching consulting relatively, um, high volume sort of work. Then you really want to keep it as anonymous as possible, but still the first name, because it's good to send people their first name and their email, and really know who you're speaking to.
  • And it also helps open rates. Actually, if you send an email that says, Hey friend, um, Gmail and et cetera, other web, uh, Email providers tend to look at those more as spam versus if it says hello, Claire and Gmail knows that the account holder's name is Claire. It's much more likely to get buy in into their inbox.
  • So with that said, we are going to delete a field and you see, when I click on these form fields information on the right hand side pops up and we want to delete this last name. So I click the last name. You can see the last names here and I click delete it, takes it away. Now, one thing we do want is we do want our first name to be required.
  • So I'm going to check that. And obviously email is always required. So we are asking our PCMs or our landing page opt-ins for their first name and their email address, which is more than enough. And something that you can do is you can mess around with these and you'll see. As I increase this corner radius, you see this as rounding out.
  • So that's just a design choice that you can make
  • like a little bit rounded corners. Um, and then you can change the font weight if you choose. So, this is how I would do it, but I would, did want to show you something that convert kit allows you to do. That's really, really powerful. What you can do is you can add a custom field. And what I want to show you is you can tag people by allowing them to select in some way, some more information about them.
  • So let's just say for my, uh, example, Is, you can be either a coach consultant or other. Now you can see, I sort of typed in this before, so, um, They're pre-populated, but this is, um, a way that if they select one of these in your backend, in your convert kit, you will be able to say who selected which option.
  • So your options probably won't be asking if they're a coach or consultant, but you can probably see that there might be an application for this. So you can ask a question. Yeah.
  • What best describes you? A coach consultant or other, and they can, they're presented with this choice to make. And then again, in the backend, it, I notice I can see who selected coach, et cetera. So that's really, really helpful. Um, very, very cool. And you can present it in different ways. It could be checkboxes or it could be a dropdown.
  • Both are fine. Whichever one suits you best. So I wanted to show you that it's not something I'm going to use. And if you were to use it, I would probably not make it required, but it's up to you. Um, but actually something that might be, be relevant for me. Are you just starting out making a list that might be very valuable information because what it would allow me to do you is to follow up in a customized manner.
  • So say, SIS, let's go with this example that I changed this to. Um, are you just starting or how many people are on your email list? So let's go through this and do this right.
  • I to my typos, zero to 500,
  • 500 to a thousand.
  • A thousand plus. So with my PCM, I'm all about lists launching lab, meaning more at the beginning. So I don't really target people who have 15,000 email subscribers because they obviously have a foundation. However, so for me, this is the options I would have and that's what it could end up looking like.
  • Um, and again, this is helpful because I can see everybody on the backend. What their option they chose. And then I can even provide custom sequences via convert kit, um, via the custom automations, meaning if they said zero to 500, they get this email and this email versus some of it said a thousand plus they get a different email.
  • Now that obviously requires you to set that up in advance and obviously create more copy. However, it's something you can build out over time. And this information, isn't that hard for someone to select like, Oh yeah, I'm just starting out. I'll click zero and it's, but it's so valuable to me knowing that.
  • So it's something to consider. It's not something I'm going to follow through with today, but I did want to show you, so I'm going to delete the field, but again, something to consider for you. So moving back to, um, the copy. I am going to bring over my sort of call to action text, which I'm putting over here right above where I need them to take action.
  • So I just have two things.
  • So it's sort of main headline text and the title of my lead magnet and then just instructions. So let's go, let's look at this a little bit closer. So download my can't believe this is free guide. This is very intentional language that I use and we use because we take a lot of pride in the things that we give people, whether it be free.
  • Um, Or paid, we really work to deliver that is one of our impact, values of excellence. And what that means to us is really over-delivering in all aspects. So even though this is a free PDF guide, I want people to go, wow, I can't believe this is free. So I explicitly say that. Um, and then I do name the actual.
  • Lead magnet because they don't know what it is at this point. I've told them how important it is to build their email list. And it's going to lead them to a thriving virtual business. And then what I'm giving you is three proven ways to grow your email list. And, um, If you, what were my PCM, all this language would really be making you go like, gosh, I really want this.
  • Uh, and that's obviously the point of a landing page to compel people to our action. So what I end with is just a very simple instruction. I don't leave anything to chance. I like to say, drop your details below and I'll send it right over. So I want it to be very clear that, um, they get access to it right away and they just have to give their information and here it comes.
  • So. That's that another thing that you, you can customize is the actual button, text button call to action. That's something that you did. So what I went with is something pretty simple, but also important because I want them to know that it's a PDF, whereas you don't see that anywhere else you'll notice.
  • So that's where I choose to do this. If it was a video, I would say, send me the video or perhaps sign me up for the webinar, whatever. So it's, it's just. Not something you have to do. It could just be, um, something more generic, but I chose to do this. You'll also notice that this is here and, um, I think this is important.
  • It's something you can obviously get rid of if you want it to. But it's important I think is that you respect the privacy and you can unsubscribe at any time, uh, which is true. Any email you send through convert kit or any other, uh, email service provider allows people to easily unsubscribe. And, um, uh, the truth is, is that's a good thing.
  • We don't want people on our list that don't want to be there. And that's that. So something you'll notice with a convert kit builder is if I click on certain areas, I could, I could type, but, um, that's basically it, whereas in other areas, A little plus sign will come up. And this is kind of the reality of templates is you can't customize everything.
  • Um, that's true of convert kit or any other email service provider templates. Um, actually convert kit is one of the most customizable, which is good, but there are limitations. Um, but you'll see whenever this check Mark or this plus sign opens, you can have options to change the. What it is. So it's right now, it's text.
  • You could change it to something else or you could insert something below. So let's say I wanted to insert a divider. That's that little line. And then I want to insert a, a numbered list. This is how you do it. So I wanted to show you that that's ultimately how that works. Um, but we are not adding anything, but again, you'll see, in other areas like headlines, that plus sign doesn't show up.
  • Um, yeah, that is partially how this works now. What's next is this, well, this basically takes care of the top. I guess we'll finish this off. You can see that we have our call to action, our button, call to action, text our headline and our description. All in here, we've made sure that we made our first name required.
  • That's something that I wanted. It's not necessarily something you have to do, but it is suggested email. And I showed you, you can add other ways of asking people for more information about them, which then tags them. Right. You remember over here, what we are doing is you instead of a field where they type in, it's just a tag and you can choose that.
  • Um, yeah. Powerful stuff. So that takes care of this sort of upper portion. Now down here is where we can add a little bit more information about us. So what you can do is I'm going to first change the picture. So I start by clicking on it and then replay, and then you'll see my menu on the right changes over here.
  • So I'm going to click replace. I happen to have already uploaded an image. I'm just going to select it. I'm obviously going to change the name
  • and you can see there's plus signs showing up. Um, obviously means that I could make more, um, additions if I wanted to. Um, but there's also the basic stuff of, if I click this text, you can see the font color over here comes up and I can change it. Um, these are the limitations of your customization. You can change the font size, but it's good for you to know.
  • You can see this as pure white, whereas this is a little bit of a gray, um, which I like, but again, you could change it if you want it to. So what I have here, what I chose to add is just a little bit more about me. And something that I wanted to show you is, is that you, I wanted to add my social media below this.
  • So I'm going to hit this plus sign and you can see change too. I don't want to change it yet, but what I want to do is insert below icons. Okay. So as I, as you can see. This opens up a whole new menu on the right hand side. So these colors kind of don't flow with what I'm going for. So I'm going to first change it to icons only.
  • And then the color I'm going to change her custom color, which is just white for me. But you can change this. You can see it's changing colors, but I do want mine white, and I want them not centered, but to the left justified because it just lines up with everything. And you can also see it's out of this, enter more content.
  • I don't actually want that. So I'm just deleting that and you see that goes away. So that is that. And then to customize each link, you would click on it and then enter each. And if you didn't, for example, want Twitter, you just closed Twitter exited, and then you can see I'm left with this. If I wanted to add something else, um, you can do that.
  • And you can see the whole list of options here. So that is cool. Um, and that's something I wanted to show you is that as you're going, you can click preview and you can get a much clearer view of what things are going to look like. So for example, you look here, um, that's what that looks like. If I click exit preview, you see there's a bunch more space.
  • So it's just something that it's cause it has the settings button. So sometimes it's good to just come back, click preview. And make sure that everything's looking good. And it does the last section I chose to add is this, I wanted to add on what will you learn? And I just came up with some bullet points that kind of just allow somebody to further understand if they wanted to, um, what my lead magnet will do for them.
  • I just had some formatting differences from my copy paste, but you can see that that's all there and this is already a bullet point if you're already using this. But if I wanted to change it, I could change it to numbers. I could change it to just words, but what I want to do is change it to an unordered list, which is basically these bullet points.
  • So. Just preview this it's looking pretty good. So now that the page is basically complete in all its important aspects. We want to make it so people can actually opt in. Oh, the first thing I am going to do. Is changed to a custom domain name. So you can see because I've added that custom name. I hope you have to, if not, it's not the end of the world, but, um, I'm just creating one out of the blue.
  • But if I go like this and open this in a new tab, you can see that, um, the link networks. So that is good. But one other thing that we need to do.
  • Is you have two options, you can simply change the form, right? Kind of behind this box right now to something, um, that describes to them what is happening. Um, okay. So what you can do is you can have it show a success message and that basically replaces the form. So I would, I would describe best, um, tell you to do is to make it pretty descriptive.
  • We're sending the PDF now check your inbox. It'll arrive shortly. Or if you don't see it within 10 minutes, check your junk mail. So that's something that you can do. You could also redirect to an external thank you page if you want it to on your website. Um, to your homepage, um, but be thoughtful about it cause you don't want them redirect her and going, okay, why am I here?
  • So the good thing is you have options, but what we are going to do is create a thank you page and convert kit makes that very easy. So you just click this top left button. Thank you page. And this is what shows up now. Um, I wanted to do something a little bit extra for this. So I'm copy pasting from a different screen.
  • This is obviously less important because they've already signed up, but I think it's good to sort of build excitement and it's an opportunity to, um, share a little bit more information and stuff like that.
  • Okay. So I've copied, pasted, everything I wanted, but I'm also going to delete these because I actually don't want them. So. Um, it's a little bit odd, but you'll see this all here, but you'll see if I click preview, it goes away. So it's kind of just telling me it's placeholder, if you wanted to. Um, we don't really need that for anything so on my thank you page it's on its way and Oh boy, is it going to be good?
  • So again, just getting them excited to. Um, check their inbox, I guess, and get what they want. So watch your inbox, um, check your promo tab junk, you know, how it works with these magic emails. Again, my PCM is younger, so I can be a little bit more, um, technically knowledgeable and speak from that place. Um, and it's basically just getting them excited and, um, it's just another opportunity.
  • It's kind of optional, as I said, you could. Just go back in your settings and just change the success message on the form. You could do that, but I think this is a little bit better. Now, what I wanted to show you is a cool, um, sort of extra step of the convert kit allows you to do is to add your Instagram feed, which is sort of, I don't know, feel really cool.
  • So you could do other things, you could add a video, you can see all these sorts of options. Um, I'm going to add the Instagram feed. So you can see it there now. Um, these are just our latest posts, which is sort of cool, but what I'm going to do is with settings, I'm just going to change, um, the sort of options that I have selected.
  • I did.
  • I just think I want less images, something like that, and I don't need this content. And I, so you'll see our, I can't delete this. It needs it for some reason. I don't know why, but it's there if I click preview and all looks good. So again, this is just the thank you page that it's pretty simple, but you never know.
  • Maybe they will come visit our Instagram page. Um, and actually having said that let's.
  • Let's add a button to make it extremely clear. Okay.
  • Oops, calm. Okay. So that's the link I want it to go to and I'm going to make this full and I'm going to change this to
  • follow on Instagram. I don't like this blue color. So what I'm going to do is go back to this button and you can see, I have the background color. I'm just going to copy this. Go back to my thank you page, click the button and just change this to Matt. Follow on Instagram. So, if it's not clear, obviously they've already signed up.
  • This is just the thank you page, but it's just an opportunity to maybe get a few more Instagram followers and it doesn't allow you to add your feed to, um, if it's a Facebook feed for example, but you might do a button to LinkedIn or Facebook. The only thing I would say is I would suggest that you only choose one, one call to action.
  • So I wouldn't list all of your social media, but it's an option. You could add something similar that we have here. Um, Social bar, um, definitely an option. So something to consider now that we have a thank you page, what we want to make sure that our settings align and we want to, in general, redirect to the thank you page and click save.
  • That's important. So now whenever people land on our page, they love our copy. They want our lead magnet. They give us our, their information. They click send the PDF to me. Then they will automatically send to the thank you page, which is nice. And as our Instagram feed, So that is cool. Now, what we need to do is to make sure that they actually, I get the PDF that they want.
  • So what we're going to do is we're going to go back to settings and what a convert kit refers to this as is so obviously incentive, lead magnet. That's basically what's going on in here. The other option is so just to be clear, that's the language that they use and incentive email is basically. Sent exact once the new subscriber fills in the form.
  • Okay. So auto confirm new subscribers. This is something that's called double opt-in. So what double opt-in is, meaning is you might've experienced this out in the wild before you sign up for someone's newsletter. And the first email you get is saying, Hey, can you confirm your subscription by clicking this button?
  • That's called double opt-in. And it saves you from a lot of spam, a lot of bots and ensures that people use real emails because. You could put in a fake email or someone else's email into this form. And if it just auto downloaded, then they would get exactly what they wanted without even having to give you their email.
  • So what this allows you to do is basically hides. If you will, your PDF download behind them. Physically opening the email. Um, that's why, if it's auto confirm on you say you should not be auto confirming subscribers. Um, I agree. You should avoid it basically at all costs. Sometimes you can't, but. For example, I'll just go through an example.
  • So downloading a PDF, this should be unchecked. You don't want to auto confirm it because what we're going to have them do is have to click a button to download it. They're going to get an email, sorry, to be more clear. There's a button saying click here to download your file. They click it. It downloads.
  • Okay. And the confirmation comes from them clicking that button. Cause obviously we know if they click that button, they got the email and opened it. Okay. So that. Means that they have sort of self confirmed if you will, rather than just automatically confirm it. Now, a different scenario where I would check on auto confirm is probably something like a webinar sign up because it would be sort of odd and difficult and wouldn't make a bunch of sense to sign me up for a webinar next Wednesday.
  • And then I send an email saying, click here to confirm you're coming that. It's not impossible. It's not the dumbest idea, but it doesn't quite work as well as obviously a PDF. So that's an example where I would turn on auto confirm. Um, so that's just something to think about now with this auto confirm again on unchecking and the confirm redirect, right?
  • So this means. Once they click that button inside the email, which we'll edit in a moment. But once they click that button saying, yes, I want it for us. We obviously want them to download a file. Now you could send them to a URL. Um, convert kit has a generic one, which I have never looked at. I'm going to just, oops, copy this.
  • And look, I assume it's. Just a normal page. Yeah. So obviously you probably wouldn't want to use this cause convert kit is sort of, um, self promoing here. However, that's the default is we want people to download something. So I clicked inclusion. I choose download and they choose the file and I'm wanting this three proven steps.
  • My lead magnet. There you go. It's uploaded and it's there. So now when people can click the confirm link, that's what they get. Now with that setup, what we're going to do is edit the actual email. So this is your from address. You can change this in your settings, in your convert kit account, and then the subject lines.
  • So I don't have anything prepared for this. So I think you'll be able to write something good here. So I'm just kind of doing this basically, but here is your PDF. So you'd write something about.
  • Obviously not my best, um, work, but you'll get the point and don't make it look like this, obviously, to put thought into this, please. Um, but we'll change this to click here to download. Okay. And it's automatically set up to be the file in that we did in the previous step. And you can see here similar to the page builder.
  • You can add, um, certain elements if you want it to, but for this very basic example, we'll just click save. And we'll just confirm we have there three proven step. Perfect. There's some advance stuff. Um, here. Which you shouldn't really have to worry too much about. And this is a little bit advanced. This is for search engine optimization.
  • Um, it says something that you'd tend to have to worry about right now. Um, and it's outside the scope of this launching lab, but this SEO is search engine optimization. It's adding information to help B have you found on Google and you can also add analytics, which is your Google analytics saying, this is how many people visited your page and from where.
  • So again, this is outside the scope of list launching lab, but something, um, you should look into. But for now, since we have our incentive set up or just click save and then we'll click save and publish the top. And now I think it's time to give this a try. So you can see here if I click share, um, it opens up the link that I created in my setting, because obviously I chose the domain name to create one of these domains.
  • So, if you haven't done this, it'll be a little bit more generic looking, but if I do this and I go to the page, so this is our webpage, it's looking great as we expect. Okay. So now that we've done this, we have the page it's working. It's looking good. It's great. What I'm going to do is I'm just going to go to the subscriber page.
  • So I obviously don't have any subscribers. So you can see, I don't have any subscribers obviously, but we will see when I, um, do this, you'll see how this, how, how this all works. So what I'm going to do is enter my name, email.
  • Do I spell it right? Yes. So what we should be seeing is our thank you page. I'll click send me the PDF. I see my thank you page. I see my Instagram. How cool. If I click follow on Instagram, it takes me to Instagram. Awesome. Also, if you click any of the images, it takes you to that image on Instagram. So that's kind of cool.
  • So that has all worked. Now, what we have to see is yes, I did get an email. So. So you can see, this is the email I got. Again, we will please spend way more time on it, but you can see here's your PDF. That's a subject line I made you will write something nice. I obviously didn't but, um, click here to download.
  • I'm not going to click it yet because what I'm going to show you is if I go to my subscribe, my, um, account, I'm just going to click refresh and you can see at the top of your confirmed subscribers is none. I'm just going to go to all subscribers. And you can see here I am Carson dot Sealy. 13 unconfirmed though.
  • Okay. And that's because I have not clicked the email. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go over here and I'm going to say click to download and it just auto downloaded for me. I just had it opened on a different page, but you can see that my PDF is here and downloaded. I have access to the lead magnet.
  • And if I go back here and I'm going to just refresh the page, And I should change to confirm. You can see, I did confirmed so only after I clicked the email. So that is something that not all email service providers do. And yet another reason why, um, I mean, I just love convert kit, uh, to do that in other platforms is not that straightforward to say the least.
  • So with that, that really wraps up this whole section. And that is the major takeaway from this launching lab is creating. Landing pages and lead magnets that really speak to your PCM that people really want now to go back to show you a little bit more, this is where you land when you sign into convert.
  • Okay. And basically if you go back to landing pages and forms, you can see the statistics of your landing pages that you've made. So I've obviously, um, uh, made a few as a examples and stuff, but this is the one we actually made. So I visited it twice. And I've gotten one subscriber, so it's converting at 50%.
  • So that's really cool. And you can see over time as that changes and how your copy changes. Um, and that's amazing. That's the power of landing pages and allows you to, again, evolve to excellence. You could change your headline. You can change your call to action. You can change your lead magnet maybe, and you can see how they all convert differently and keep an eye on your analytics.
  • So that's a powerful feature of convert kit. What we will be moving on to next is basically to this point, we've talked about in a lot of ways, how to get email subscribers, both the tech stuff, you've set up your convert kit account. For example, you started to collect your BFFs. As I have called them.
  • You're the people that are right around you, the business cards and stuff like that, to start building your list, you've created a simple landing page for your, for those folks. So you can remember, I'm just going to go to that page here. And you remember this very simple one. So that's very cool. And from there, we're starting to move towards your friends and that is where this lead magnet starts to come into play because for those people, again, the three stages of growth first year PFS, which we've covered.
  • And then now we're talking about your friends and we needed a lead magnet to really entice these sort of friends. Right? So we have this lead magnet. We have our PCM, we have our landing page now and we can start sharing it and people can download our lead magnet. So that is really powerful. And from here, we're going to start talking about what to do with the list, for example, how to send broadcast to everybody on your list.
  • That'll be a future video, as well as list maintenance, um, basic stuff, and a little bit more advanced things that we have learned over time. These are things like pruning your lists, deleting inactive subscribers, things of that nature. And then we're going to talk about the third stage of growth, which is really the expansion stage, which is going to ice cold audience that has no contact with you.
  • These are things like ads. Um, speaking engagements. This is obviously not something we talk about how to do enlist launching lab. It's not what it's about, but we do talk about it at a high level. What's next? So I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I hope you followed along. I hope you have a wonderful.
  • Landing page. That's ready to share with the world and start building your email list.
